With less that 48 hours to go to say the nerves are starting to build is an understatment!! The Cardiff half marathon is now one of the most popular half marathons in the country. It's reknowned for being a flat (I'm not convinced when you see the hills at mile 3 and 12!!) and fast race (by whose standards!!).
The Breast Cancer Care vests have arrived, making any last minute withdrawals and ducking out impossible. It is the determination to raise money for this fantastic cause that has spurred "Team the Place for Homes" on.
So the training is done, the carb loading has commenced, our Breast cancer care support packs have arrived, as have our numbers and it's now left to us!!
We're going to run as a team - the three of us together but this in itself raises questions:
- Will one person sneak over the line first?
- Will we hold hands and cross the line together hands held high with relief?
The most important thing to us all has been raising money for Breast Cancer care as this terrible disease has personally affected our family and friends and the support provided by Breast Cancer Care is there for not just the sufferer but for the family members.
So this is it - almost!!! Thanks to everyone for your support; to the people who've yelled encouragement as they've seen us training through Llantwit Major and Cowbridge and running through the lanes in the dark in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan; for those who've sponsored us; to our families and children who've put up with the complaints and nerves.
Here comes Team Place for Homes in support of Breast Cancer Care!!
